Country + Cottage + Farmhouse
I’ve always been drawn to old homes- their character, their stories, their cozy feel. BUT I’m not one for scary renovations or large-scale home inspections; so restoring an old home was out of the question.

“Wouldn’t it be nice if we built a NEW farmhouse that didn’t NEED anything, but had the character of an old cottage?!”
That was my biggest selling pitch to the husband as to -why- we should build a new farmhouse (with two toddlers), instead of restoring an old one. We had already renovated 3 houses together over the course of our 6 year marriage. And though our project results were mostly insta-worthy, the “getting there” was never easy. (We bicker like a much-older married couple.)
So he obliged thinking he wouldn’t have to do another DIY project… and here we are: With a brand-new farmhouse, up to our necks in DIY projects (and diapers). Sorry, Honey!

“Country Cottage Farmhouse” is how I describe our style. Not too modern, not too rustic… just lived-in, comfortable, and authentic to our story. I am creating this blog because I want to share with other moms and gals, like me, who are trying to create a charming home on a budget with the least amount of spare time possible.
I hope you join me here, at Green Valley Gable, as I share ideas and first hand experiences in home decorating, gardening, diy projects, and more.
