About me
Hi, I’m Stacey!
A stay-at-home mom of two, born and raised in West Virginia, now living in an Ohio Farmhouse. I am a former agriculture teacher/pig farmer and forever home & garden enthusiast. I’m married to a man I met at a casino, and we have spent the last 9 years bickering, building, and encouraging one another. He says I’m needy, I say I have high expectations.
Other fun tidbits: Siri doesn’t understand half of what I say. Sweet Home Alabama is undeniably my favorite movie; and Loretta Lynn will always be my karaoke go-to.
My personal mottos: When in doubt, paint it white; gravy makes everything better; and of course, there is always room for one more quilt!
Why Appalachian Style?
I grew up in a humble Appalachian home with a fond attachment to my Mamaw Faye, who lived one holler over. She taught me to sew a semi-straight line and how to make a pretty pie crust. Yard-sale finds and family heirlooms filled her spaces. Her collected style developed mine unintentionally- I find myself drawn to homes that feel like hers did-comfortable, mismatched, and pieced together over the years.
“Appalachian Cottage Farmhouse” is what I label our style, and it describes the look and feel I hope to help you achieve. Embracing heirloom decor; romanticizing country ways; getting back to nature; and perfecting an imperfect cozy look. My mission is to share the tools and inspiration you need to create a heart-warming, country home and lifestyle, reminiscent of my Appalachian upbringing.
